Dawn's CSF Leak Adventure
Message & Update from Dawn For those of you who've known me over 10 years, you probably remember my last CSF (cerebro spinal fluid) leak and the adventure with patching the leak and recovery. Well I've developed another leak (or the same leak has opened again) and it's causing intracranial hypotension and significant brain sag. It needs to be fixed and there are few experts in managing CSF leaks in people with Connective Tissue Disorders like Marfan Syndrome. My local doctors believe (rightfully) that I am beyond their scope so I will be going to Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles in August to have my care managed by one of the best doctors, Wouter Schievink, and he will be doing a surgical repair on August 12th.

Goal Travel is not covered with this procedure and neither is time missed from work. As their friends, I know many of us want to help in some way in addition to praying. Despite their own hesitancy, Rick and Dawn have allowed me to set this Go Fund Me up to allow everyone an option to support their journey. It is very important to them for you all to know they will not go into debt because of this procedure. They have savings and they are creative in the ways they utilize points and offers from friends where they can. Rick has sent me a detailed budget ($9500) and I have rounded that up. If we go over the expenses occurred the rest can go to Dawn's ongoing medical expenses. That being said I know using savings to move into their own purchased home would be the preferred choice and anything we can do to help lower the financial strain will be a blessing. When I talked with Dawn I was able to express how beautiful it is to allow people to honor the generosity gifted us by our creator. We are designed to care for one another and in times where we feel helpless it is important to find tangible ways of expressing love and support. This is one of those times. No pressure to give- they both feel loved by your prayers and encouragement but if you can and would like to here is your chance.
