Dawn is suffering from CIDP/ Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy.

Dawn Milne, She is the "other half" of the fabulous bass player Kirk Powers.. (who was also pop-star Debbie Gibson's  bass player thoughout her hitmaking years and also plays with Point Blank,  and other International artists.) They have fallen on some tough times.

CIDP/ Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy is the chronic Variant of Guillian Barre syndrome.. that was the result of a bacteria from drinking bad water. The bacteria mimicked the nerves throughout the body and when the antibodies went to attack as required they attacked the nerves throughout the body as well.

CIDP is a chronic autoimmune antibody disease that is very rare and not enough known.

Treatment for CIDP is IVIG.

Dawn needs to have a port put into her chest then a BioRX company can administer the IVIG treatment. IVIG is a blood plasma product called Intravenous Immunoglobulin this plasma is pooled Antibodies, This plasma is from about 20,000 people this is why the cost is just under $9,000 for 1 treatment ins. Pays 75%.

EACH TREATMENT IS OUT OF POCKET $800+!!!

She has just been informed she should be receiving 2 treatments a month. I don't know anyone that can afford that sort of medical care!

Kirk is traveling to make money when he is able. But work has come to a massive slow down since his boss was diagnosed with lung cancer and has retired.  It breaks my heart that he does so much and yet he still has to see Dawn suffering so much.

Dawn got to UT southwest after a 6 month wait. They are continuing her IVIG treatmenst at this time untill Insurabce is up for renewal in 30 days. . The cost is very high. 

Dawn has been suffering for so long. I visited her in the hospital this past February when she was having IVIG treatments. This is WAY too long for anyone to suffer. She is scared and she is in pain. She suffers full body numbness and severe burning nerve pain. The long term effect of slowing of the muscles conducting can lead to confinement to a wheelchair.

Dawn and Kirk (and Allie the dog) are one of the most caring generous little families I know. They deserve so much more than what they are being handed right now.
