Another Angel Taken To Soon due to Cancer

Beschermde donatie
This morning God called another angel home. Our beloved Dawn Schillinger Ousley lost her short battle to cancer this morning.

Dawn touched so many lives through the years and has left behind many broken hearts. Dawn has a loving husband, son, and family who love her dearly. We weren't prepared for her diagnosis nor for her to be taken from us so soon. As Dawn, Wade, and JJ focused on fighting her battle with cancer, they incurred overwhelming medical bills, among other expenses. Now, the family is faced with funeral expenses. This is where we are asking for help from all of her family, friends, and community. Please, come together to help with the medical bills and funeral expenses. We want to give Dawn Marie, the funeral she deserves, to honor her, and to say our final goodbyes.

Dawn was beautiful on the inside and out. She had a heart of gold and would light up a room just from her presence. She had a smile and laugh that was contagious. She had such a great sense of humor. Dawn would do anything for anybody and loved to see others happy. She enjoyed life and appreciated all she had and was grateful for every day. Most of all, Dawn loved her family. They meant the world to her. She was a wonderful wife, mom, daughter, sister, and aunt. Her nieces and nephews will tell you, she was their favorite. She truly was one of a kind!

Dawn's Short Fight with Cancer

In February 2020, Dawn started having extreme pain in her stomach, back, and kidney. She was told for weeks it was a UTI and then a kidney stone. The pain continued to get worse so they did a CT scan and found a large tumor on her right kidney. They initially thought the tumor was contained in the kidney. They did surgery in late February to remove the tumor. In early March, she found out that the surgeon was unable to remove all of the cancer and referred her to St. Louis. In early April, Dawn found out she had an aggressive form of cancer called Liposarcoma and there was no treatment. The doctors tried various treatments to give Dawn as much time as they could. Dawn fought hard to try to beat this disease with such grace, determination, and a positive attitude. She wanted nothing more than to be here with all of her loved ones, to share more laughs, and to create memories for many years to come. God had another plan for her and needed to bring his angel home. Dawn's birthday is next month and she would have been 46. She will be spending that in heaven surrounded by god and all her loved ones that have gone before her.

Until we meet again Dawn Marie, we will all hold you close to our hearts! You will forever, and always be apart of us.

If you would like to send the family your condolences with a card, please do so. I know they would be happy to hear the wonderful memories you have of Dawn.
