On behalf of Dawn, friends have organized this GoFundMe for Dawn.

Thirteen years ago, Dawn suffered a severe knee injury in her home that prevented her from continuing her career as a Correctional Officer. During recovery, she went to massage therapy school and became a Licensed Massage Therapist. This has always been her passion...helping others. Since 2009, she has been an integral part of the Midlands holistic community, helping others through her practice.

In February 2022, she took a fall that required another knee surgery, which was done this May. She is still trying to recover from that surgery due to complications she encountered with a plantar tear in her right foot and tendinitis in her left foot. This already made walking unbearable. Now, she is dependent upon a wheelchair.

Unfortunately, two weeks ago, she suffered three bad falls after tripping over her cat, Willow. However, Dawn is looking at yet another surgery on her "good knee." This one will require a total reconstruction of the ACL and a Handle Bucket tear meniscus repair which is a long recovery. She will be out of work for the next several months to recover from this; sadly, her medical and living expenses continue to mount. With her permission, I have set up this Go Fund Me to help her with these expenses. The medical costs, loss of income, the stress of the injury, and how to navigate through this period are overwhelming for her and her partner, Edie, and all right before the holidays.

She was also scheduled for a CMC Joint surgery due to a subluxation of her right thumb which is a dislocation of the thumb joint due to repetitive use in her practice. This surgery will have to be pushed back until she's completed PT for her knee.

We hope she can return to her beloved Massage Therapy Practice, Dawn of Your Wellness, but that is all very unclear now.
