Dawn Nyquist - Hurricane Michael

Hello Team Applied & Friends:
Dawn Nyquist one of our Product Instructors in Education Services who lives in Panama City was one of the many residents dramatically impacted by Hurricane Michael on October 10th. She originally was planning on staying through the storm until the report of a Category 4 quickly became the new forecast at 11pm on October 9th. She quickly made the decision to evacuate with her 3 cats alone with her passport, some paperwork, and a few pieces of clothing heading for the last hotel room in Birmingham Alabama (4 hours away). This was probably one of the best quick decisions Dawn has ever made since her home was crushed by a huge tree in her yard. She returned to her home or what was left of it On Sunday the 14th to extract some clothes, her Applied Equipment and a few sentimental items. There are many residents, neighbours and friends in Dawn’s area that are faced with the same devastation. We have seen on the news where there are some residents who are staying in their home waiting for assistance to arrive. This is NOT an option for Dawn. Dawn and her cats are homeless. She was invited to stay with a friend in Pensacola temporarily for a couple of weeks but she will need to find another place to live for the next year or so while she rebuilds. Although Dawn has insurance coverage it is NOT going to be enough to provide her with the assistance she will need to find a new place to live while rebuilding. She has already spent thousands of dollars in tree removal and securing her roof prior to an adjuster being assigned. She has been staying in hotels as well on points which are about to be used up. In addition to the storm Dawn has had a very difficult year with additional personal life events.
Dawn is a dedicated and loyal employee, team member, and friend. As she faced the reality of losing her home and 95% of her belongings, she continued to worry about her clients, ensuring she is there for them, as well as responding to internal emails to assist her colleagues by sharing her knowledge. In our conversations, she is still worried about her clients and she continues to travel and work with them!
Several Team Members have asked how they could help so we set up this Go Fund Me account to give those the opportunity. We all have a chance to help a colleague and friend who is dealing with an extremely difficult time. Anything you could possibly contribute for Dawn is greatly appreciated!
