Dawn Livigne's Hospitalization
Donation protected
Hello all! My name is Rin, and I am Dawn's daughter. Two weeks ago she was hospitalized with Guillain-Barré syndrome, a rare neurological condition in which the immune system attacks the nerves. This condition has onset as a result of a brief COVID-19 infection. She remains in the ICU at Beverly Hospital for time being so she can receive round-the-clock care.
We are still waiting for the disease to progress to get an idea of what her recovery will look like - Guillain-Barré is a quickly evolving and hard to understand disease. We do know that no matter what, it will be a lengthy process. After hospitalization, it can take years to fully recover from its neurological effects like weakness, numbness, paralysis, etc.
I am fundraising to better manage the hospital bills and provide a bit of relief for my mom so that she can focus on recovering and fighting this disease. Any help is much appreciated. If you'd like to follow along with daily updates on her condition, you can visit www.caringbridge.com/visit/dawnlivigne.
Thank you,
