Dawn Kicking Breast Cancers Ass

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Bria and I am the daughter of Dawn Younke Roszell. My mother recently had surgery on her lower back and has been off of work due to this recent surgery. While being off, she was overdue for her mammogram and was able to take care of this very important self care, wellness appointment on Thursday, March 24th. They told her no news is good news. The next day she gets a call that they would like to have her back for an ultrasound of the right breast and if she could come that afternoon-they scheduled her that day for a biopsy of the suspicious area the following Wednesday, March 30th and said she should get a call with her results the following day. On Thursday, March 31st, she received a phone call that the biopsy indeed came back as Breast Cancer. Her case manager, Shari, called and went over her diagnosis and what she could expect through this scary rollercoaster ride. It is Stage/Level 1 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. They told us that it was maybe half an inch on the imaging screen so this was somewhat of a relief to hear. They scheduled her back for a bilateral MRI of both breasts and on Friday, April 8th we met with Dr. Jay who was able to go more in depth with her about her diagnosis and review her MRI with us. At this time is when we found out there are actually 3 suspicious areas in the right breast- 1 we know for sure is cancer- and that there unfortunately, was another suspicious area in her left breast. We were definitely shocked at this point. So, what next? Well, one of the areas on her right is very close to the chest wall cavity and close towards her underarm. We will definitely want to make sure this cancer is stemming from just Breast Cancer and not somewhere else. They will also test nodes on each side to make sure it hasn’t spread to them. She was scheduled back to have another biopsy but this time of the left breast-which also came back as Breast Cancer. We are extremely grateful that this was caught at an early stage and she has options on how to kick this cancers ass! She is currently still off work with her back and will be off work even longer now once her surgery is scheduled for a double mastectomy and reconstruction with the possibility of radiation and/or chemotherapy. We all know that bills do not pay themselves and any help would be greatly appreciated! Showing your support for her in anyway is helpful. All of you who know Dawn, know that she has a heart of gold and would give you the shirt off her back, rescue an animal off the side of the road or do just about anything to make someone laugh or smile! Those who also know Dawn on a personal level know that she will kick your ass if you wrong her or her loved ones and that’s just what she’s going to do to this Breast Cancer! Cancer picked the wrong bitch!
