Dawn Jones Fund

My beautiful wife, mother of my child and best friend is facing what every women fears. In February of this year there was a mass found in her breast. The initial biopsy came back cancer free, but three different cellular markers were found at the time that have the doctors concerned and are considered pre-cancerous. They also put Dawn at a much higher risk of developing Breast Cancer in the future, in either breast. Due to this, the Dr and Surgeon have recommended having the mass removed and fully tested for cancer. Dawn is scheduled to have surgery in just under two weeks (4/16/19).

Unfortunately, our medical plan is an extremely high deductible plan, which leaves a huge burden on us for cost upfront.  Today we were informed that we have to pay all out-of-pocket costs in full before they will do the surgery. This includes, the surgeon, surgery center, anesthesiologist and hospital. In addition to this we have already incurred thousands of dollars in medical bills just in testing and additional doctors appointments. We never thought that all of this would have to be paid all at once. We thought we would be able to set up payments but that is not the fact. We have some money put away that will be used but we just don’t have all of it right now and it is not in the best interest of Dawn’s health to put off the surgery.
