Dawn Haggart

On June 18, 2019, Dawn Haggart was diagnosed with Astrocytoma of the spinal cord with Leptomeningial disease.  As a result, Dawn developed a cancerous tumor that has intertwined throughout her spinal cord, causing paralysis in her torso and compromised vision.  After two surgeries at Albany Medical Center in June 2019, and January 2020, to partially remove the cancerous tumor, and administer radiation therapy at Procure Proton Therapy Center in Somerset, NJ, Dawn is currently undergoing Chemotherapy treatment to help reverse the spread of this cancer.  Dawn lives in Glenville, NY, with her husband Bill who were married in 1987, together they raised their three children; Nicholas, Jeffrey and Chelsie.  In August and September, Dawn is anticipating the arrival of a granddaughter and grandson.  Dawn is a 1981 graduate from Mont Pleasant High School, in Schenectady, NY, and went on to earn an Associates degree in Advertising and Art Design at SUNY, Farmingdale, and a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design at The College of Saint Rose.  Dawn and her family have been members at Zion Lutheran Church, in Schenectady, NY.  In 2020, Dawn retired from the Schenectady City School District after 17 years service, working as a Paraprofessional in Special Education.  Dawn and her family kindly request your prayers and support as she continues to fight this illness.  Donations will go directly to Dawn in support of her medical treatments and medical care expenses.
