Hi, I'm Josie. I am fundraising to help my boyfriend's mom (Dawn, pictured standing second from the right with her family) with back surgery to help relieve her pain caused by spinal stenosis. It includes roughly 8 to 10 weeks in which she cannot work, physical therapy, scans, and the surgery itself, a laminectomy. This procedure removes bone spurs and specific tissues to help create more space in the spinal canal to relieve the pressure put on the nerves at her L3 and L4 vertebrae. Dawn is a mother of 4 who does everything she possibly can for her family and those she cares about, and it is difficult for all of us to see her in constant pain. Her goal is to reduce the number of pain medications she is on, increase her quality of life with less pain, and get back to the things she enjoys. These funds will cover Dawn's medical expenses listed earlier and let her afford to take the necessary time off of work to heal properly while keeping up with her monthly bills.
