Help Dawn get oxygen therapy for her long covid

Hi, my name is Anneliese and I am trying to raise money to help my friend Dawn.

Dawn used to be a fitness instructor before the pandemic, often training for up to 25 hours a week and leading a very busy, active life.

When Dawn got covid at the very start of the pandemic in March 2020, it really badly affected her, and she has never fully recovered. Even now, over two years later, she has terrible fatigue and often cannot leave the house, she gets heart palpitations, breathing problems and has awful headaches which incapacitate her, often leaving her unable to get out of bed.

Her doctor has sent her for X-rays, ECGs and numerous blood tests, and she has been diagnosed with long covid, which has also caused a new heart condition.

She now needs a walking stick and has lost her independence, her family have to take her in a wheelchair if she needs to go out anywhere because she just doesn't have the strength to go out on her own.

She's recently taken out a loan to buy a mobility scooter, although using it can be extremely tiring in itself, so she cannot use it as much as she would like.

One long covid treatment which is getting very positive results in trials is Hyperbaric oxygen therapy, using a pressurised oxygen chamber to treat patients over multiple sessions.

Dawn is desperate to get her old life back, and would really like to try it, but it's very expensive, and her partner would need to take time off work to take her because you need at least 20 sessions over quite a short space of time, it may also involve hotel costs close to the chamber for repeat sessions over multiple days so we are unsure of the exact total it would cost currently, but we estimate the minimum amount to cover just the sessions (with no travel /hotel or lost earnings taken into account) would be around £2500+ At least) so I am asking if anyone would like to donate to help her with the cost of this and try and get her life back to normal again.

Regarding any additional money donated over the target I would be happy for it to go towards paying off the mobility scoot loan, the travel costs to the treatment and to help them get back on their feet after Dawn has been unable to work for so long.
