Dawn and Tom Coogan Medical Help

Dawn Coogan was visiting family in Michigan when tragedy struck. As an insulin dependent type II diabetic she was always so careful to monitor her sugar. Unfortunately, she developed a kidney infection that turned septic almost overnight. On Monday, August 26th 2019 she wasn’t feeling well and was making plans to come back home to Panama City Beach, Fl the following weekend to her husband and see her doctor. By the next day, she was in the emergency room with kidney failure and sepsis that has gotten into her blood stream. 

In the past 48 hours she has gone from laughing and joking about going home, to two major surgeries -one to place a stint to draw out the infection and one to remove a kidney- and being in a medically induced coma. She is fighting for her life, and so are the team of doctors caring for her. 

As soon as he knew she was in the hospital, Dawn’s husband Tom dropped everything to catch the first flight to Michigan he could to be with his wife. He’s left his business and work at a standstill to care for her and manage these very serious medical decisions. Unfortunately, the bills he left in Florida, the costs of his travel, and Dawn’s ever-mounting medical expenses don’t stop just because their world has. 

Dawn has had a LONG road ahead of her if she is going to recover. Tom may not be able to go home for a while. Dawn most certainly won’t. 

Anyone who's ever met Dawn knows how much she loves life, Tom, fishing, and her friends and family. She’s fighting so hard right now, but they need your help to get through this together. 

Please. Please, if you can help at all, even if it’s just a few dollars, it will help them. Please help Tom be able to stay by his wife’s side. Please help Dawn with extended stay and care costs. Please just HELP.
