This October, Dawn and Johnny's world was impacted with a cancer diagnosis. The discovery process and precise diagnosis proved difficult and required extra steps to be taken, resulting in additional invasive and costly procedures. Finally, on February 24th after 5 months of extensive tests, Dawn was able to undergo her surgery; however, the procedure triggered an unexpected side effect - neuropathy in the surgical area, which again required further tests to determine the root and extent of the problem in order to successfully treat it.
On April 4th, Dawn began the first of 24 radiation therapy treatments, occurring Monday through Friday until May 5th. In the last year and a half, this couple has moved, changed jobs, Dawn has not found a job (and is currently unable to until the radiation is finished because of the neuropathy meds and their side effects), and the medical bills are coming faster and fuller than expected. Thankfully, insurance is paying a big chunk, yet with only Johnny's income, they fall behind and feel the pressure of medical debt.
For these reasons, we are reaching out to family and friends in hopes that you will share this burden with Dawn and Johnny as you are able.
We are grateful for your prayers, cards, phone calls, texts, and food over these past six months and in the months to come.
