Medical & Financial Support

Dear Community,

As many of you heard our dearest Ellie Winslow had an accident doing what she loves on Friday November 17, 2023. She is passionate horseback rider and trainer with all types of horses. While working with a horse she had a fall and endured lots of facial trauma which has kept her hospitalized in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Barbara Bush Hospital at Maine Medical Center.

She has been an amazing patient, trying to stay positive and even finding humor in her day where she can. (Doesn’t that sound like our Ellie that so many love and admire). She has also had to push through a lot of pain and discomfort with more ahead of her.

Ellie’s continued stay in the hospital is monitoring a CSF leak coming from one of the facial fractures. We have been praying this will heal with a spinal drain, however her body is now telling us she needs more. Ellie will be going into endoscopic surgery using a camera to attempt patching the tear where the CSF is leaking thru the facial fractures. She has a long road to recovery. In the coming weeks/months Ellie will also need extensive dental reconstruction.

Ellie’s mom, Colleen Winslow has been at her bedside from the start and will continue to be out of work caring for Ellie’s medical, physical and comforting needs. I’m hoping our community can come together during this difficult time to offer some support to assist with medical, dental and home financial expenses to support her mom being out of work. Every little bit is incredibly helpful. We appreciate the outpouring support of our amazing rural community. Thank you from the bottoms of our hearts for considering to support Ellie!
