Dawes Eagle News Program

Dawes Elementary School is a Title 1, two-way immersion school located in Evanston, IL.  Our students have diverse backgrounds from all over the world. The library is in the beginning stages of incorporating a makerspace feel where students are exploring the world.

Students will start by learning how to make book trailer videos, which will lead to an all school news program! In this day of "fake news", it is imperative that students understand what goes into creating a news program and how research, citation and plagiarism take a lead role.

The news program will also allow students to be aware of community wide events and projects or programs that need volunteers. We can foster a love for lifelong charity.

Funds will go towards purchasing video equipment ($500), a green screen kit ($500), microphones ($150), tables ($2000), chairs ($350), bookcases ($1000) and storage materials ($500).

Dawes Elementary School will begin working on the news program in December 2017!

Our students will be thrilled if you could contribute to our news program. They appreciate you!
