Penelope Belle Davis was born on on December 15th, 2023 at 1:28AM. Due to the onset of severe pre-eclampsia, Madison was flown via helicopter to St Louis where she delivered Penelope. Penelope has a congenital heart defect called hypoplastic left heart syndrome. This affects normal blood flow through her heart and requires surgery to correct. She will be undergoing her first heart surgery in a couple days. In the future, she will require two more surgeries: a second surgery between the ages of 4-6 months old and a third surgery around 3 years old. Madison, who was a teacher, will now be staying home to take care of Penelope. Once Madison is discharged, she will be staying in St. Louis with Penelope until she is cleared discharged as well. At this time, we do not know how long Penelope will be in the NICU. Our goal is to take any financial burden off of this sweet family during this time.
