David’s Road Home

What began as a beautiful adventure in Thailand — turquoise water, sticky rice, barefoot walks, laughter, and new friendships — has taken an unexpected turn.

David is now in a hospital bed, fighting a serious infection, and his doctors are saying he is not yet stable enough to fly home.

Anyone who has lived through a medical emergency far from home understands how quickly the ground can shift. Plans dissolve. Timelines blur. Days become a rhythm of test results, conversations with doctors, and constant calls trying to navigate insurance policies and logistics.

Outside the hospital window, the ocean is impossibly blue. Inside the room, machines beep and uncertainty hangs in the air. The contrast feels surreal.

Linda is by David’s side, moving through a surrender deeper than she has ever known — trusting the medical team, taking each hour as it comes, and believing fiercely in David’s body and its ability to heal.

If you know David, you know his strength, his devotion to his family, and how naturally he shows up for others. Right now, he needs that circle of love around him.

We are holding the vision of him resting deeply, his strength returning hour by hour, responding beautifully to treatment, and coming home safely — back into the arms of his children, family, and friends.

As they focus on healing, there are growing practical realities: unexpected international medical expenses, extended stays, rebooked travel, and costs that may not be covered.

They are also exploring the possibility of a medical evacuation flight with a specialized team when David becomes well enough to move. At this moment, they don’t yet know what that could require financially, and working with insurance while managing David’s day-to-day symptoms has been incredibly complex and overwhelming.

This fundraiser is meant to create breathing room — whether for expenses insurance will not carry, or, if needed, toward bringing David home through medical transport.

My name is Stephanie, and I am a loving friend of Linda and David.

Our relationship deepened profoundly when we spent nine months together inside an intensive personal growth and self-awareness journey. Walking that kind of path beside people changes you — you see who and how incredible they are at their core.

During that time, and ever since, I have witnessed the depth of their bond and the steadiness of their love story. I’ve watched how fiercely they care for one another, for their children, and for the communities around them.

They are the people who gather others.

They open their doors.

They create spaces where connection happens and where everyone feels welcome.

And right now, it’s our turn to do that for them.
