David's Kidney Cancer Fund

Hi, my name is Kari and I'm fundraising for my 21 year old son David. He has stage 4 inoperable metastatic kidney cancer and we are asking for your help with the expenses of his medical care and travel.

In David's senior year of high school, he was in a minor car wreck. The local ER performed a CT scan and found no damage. A few days later, his very concerned primary doctor called and explained David had a large tumor on his right kidney. A partial nephrectomy was immediately performed and we went 1 year cancer free but then it returned. Another surgery was needed but this time I almost lost him to internal bleeding and pneumonia. After a long stay in ICU, he recovered.

When David recovered he immediately went back to work and school, by now he was 20. His 90 day check up after his surgery was not good. The doctor said several areas of concern, would rescan in another 90 days.

Around then, David started having to fight his own body just to work. He slowly got sicker and smaller. Then sicker. He lost 60 lbs in just over 4 months.

This young man had to quit his job due to being so ill. They were excellent to him BTW and he left on great terms. He also had to quit college because he was just too ill.

At the next visit, we were told he now had stage 4 kidney cancer and he must have chemo and immunotherapy every 21 days. Naturally we were scared and caring for him by then was a full time job. He was so ill!

Thank God he is now stable. We just had our 14th infusion. He is weak and has no energy but he is here now. I have held him while he's cried in agony. He's my hero!
