We would be so grateful if you could help us support our friend and team goalie, David and his family. David is a great teammate. He works hard and makes incredible saves! More importantly, David is our friend. He is funny, hardworking, and kind. He and his twin brother are a part of our Maple Brook soccer team.
On Saturday, May 14, David was in a terrible ATV accident. He was airlifted to HCMC and spent 5 days in a coma. This was a really scary time for everyone in his family and on our team, especially Daniel. David has many injuries from the accident. On Thursday David woke up and we were all so happy to know he was going to make it! I screamed when my mom told me!! We were so thankful he woke up and responded to some of the doctors commands, but David has a lot of big hurdles to climb before he will come home. He has many broken bones and when the Dr. was asking him to do things he was unable to move his left side. He was also so agitated they had to give him medicine to sedate him. They also said they had to stop talking to him about soccer because he was getting so upset. I bet because he wishes he was playing with us. Our parents really want to help David and his family focus on his recovery so we decided as a team to create this GOFUNDME.
David has a great family. His mom Sandra has been by his side all week but that makes this hard because David has little brothers and sisters. They are blessed to have a large family near and far who are praying and helping as much as they can. We are hoping we can raise money so that they have one less worry while they help David heal. If you can donate, our team would be so grateful! If you can't donate, that is ok too! Prayers for David to heal quickly and completely are free and definitely welcome.
