David's Cancer Journey: Need Your Help
Donation protected
My name is Tammy and about 15 years ago, my husband David was diagnosed with kidney cancer. They removed his kidney and everything seemed to be fine up until January of last year. His neck started hurting him really bad, so long story short, he had an MRI done and they found cancer in his neck, stage 3 renal cell cancer. He has a mass on his spine that they had to remove. They cut into the back of his neck and removed what they could. Also, the mass did damage to his vertebrae; they had to remove some bone from his C2 and C3 vertebrae. He then had to have 5 doses of radiation to remove the rest of the mass from the front of his neck. After that, he was put on immune therapy. He has to go every 3 weeks and we live 2 hours away from where he has to go do his therapy.
A while after everything healed up, he had another scan done and it showed he had cancer in the bone of his neck, so more immune therapy and they added a chemo pill. He had to go have more radiation, this time 5 days. We had to stay at the hospital and have radiation each day. It has been a little over a year now, so they did another MRI and now the cancer has gotten a little bigger. With that being said, we have to go stay at the hospital for 10 days and he has to have radiation treatments every day for the 10 days. I only work part-time and I will have to miss work to take him for this treatment.
We have been struggling somewhat financially already, but now with me having to miss work and travel 2 hours from home, we would appreciate any help anyone could give us. We hate to even be asking because we know everyone has their own problems and things are really hard right now for so many, so if you can't help us, we understand, really we do, but could you all please keep David in your prayers, that would be so appreciated!!! If anyone can help at all financially, we would be forever grateful also. Thank you for your support whether it's financially or prayers or both. God Bless
