David's Brain Tumour Battle

Donation protected
Hello friends and family,

I am reaching out to you all today to ask for your support in helping our dear friends Catherine, David and their family during this incredibly difficult time.
Catherine's husband, David, has very recently been diagnosed with an inoperable Grade 3 terminal brain tumour, after being fit and healthy all his life.

Within 30 minutes of being sent home from work at the end of February, he had 3 seizure's and was taken to St Richards Hospital, where he was admitted for a couple of days, had various tests and a CT Scan, followed by an MRI scan. Which is when they found a mass on his brain, but they weren’t sure what it was.
Whilst in hospital David was started on anti-seizure medication to help control the seizure’s.
He was referred to Southampton Hospital for more CT Scans and MRI’s and then he had a biopsy done, which is when they found David had a Brain Tumour!

It was originally thought to be a (Grade 4 Astrocytoma Tumour) and it was aggressive, but after more advanced tests were done on some of his biopsy up in London, his tumour has now been downgraded to a (Grade 3 Astrocytoma Brain Tumour!)
But the tumour is inoperable and because of where the tumour is situated and the size of the tumour... it would cause more problems and complications if they tried to operate and take it out!

David is now under QA Hospital in Portsmouth, where he has started a course of Radiotherapy treatments which will hopefully slow the spread and put the tumour to sleep, hopefully giving David more time with his family, which is slightly more positive news than they originally had!
Once David has finished his Radiotherapy, he will start a prolonged course of Chemotherapy, which will be in tablet form that he can have at home, it could be anything up to a year.

This news has come as a massive blow to Catherine, David and their Children, as David has always been their rock, their support system and their sole income since Catherine had to give up work because of her various and serious health issues.
Catherine herself suffers from chronic lung problems and is on permanent oxygen 24/7, she is on the Transplant list, waiting for a Double Lung Transplant, as well as suffering from Type 2 Diabetes and a lot of other ongoing health conditions.

Catherine is soon to have a serious and complicated operation on her spine, she has 2 fractures on her C5 & C6, the base of her neck.
Despite all of this, she has never once asked for help and continues to be the strong, resilient woman that we know and love.

I want to do everything we can, to support David, Catherine and their family during this challenging time, which is why I have set up this GoFundMe fundraiser page.

The funds raised will go towards providing financial support for the family and allowing David, Catherine and their Children to make special memories together and easing the burden of any financial worries that may arise in the future and will help towards taxi’s and travel etc as both David & Catherine can not drive at the moment!

Catherine and David have been married for 20 years this year and have been together for 26 years, they share 3 beautiful Children together. David has always been Catherine’s biggest support system.

It's time for us to rally around them and show our love and support in any way we can.

Please consider donating to this fundraiser and sharing it with your friends and family. Every little bit helps, and it will mean the world to David, Catherine and their family during this difficult time.

Thank you for your love and support.
