David Monkress, his wife Kim, and their two small children Hailey (4) & Zander (2), lost their home to a fire in Cathedral City, California. While dad was working, mom woke up in the middle of the night to a house full of smoke. Mom courageously ran to rescue her kids from their rooms. The fire had already filled the garage and kitchen. Flames were streaming out of the windows and the roof as mom frantically escaped through a door in the master bedroom with her two precious babies. A neighbor was yelling from his yard asking if everyone was out of the house. Mom was able to get over the brick wall with her kids just in time to prevent what could have been the end of their lives. It appears as though the fire started from the hot water heater in the garage. And once it hit dad's classic Chevelle, mom's car, and the family's off-road vehicles, the gas created a large explosion just minutes after mom and her kids got out of the house. When dad arrived home and saw his house engulfed in flames, his immediate thought was that his family was inside the burning house. He kicked the front door in to try and rescue them. When mom heard dad frantically yelling for his family, she ran screaming to him that his family was out of the house and safe. This amazing family needs your help to rebuild their life. With two small children to provide for who have lost the only home they have known, clothes and every day living items are immediately needed. Your financial contribution, no matter how small, will provide this loving family with the ability to get back on their feet and start to recover from this horrific tragedy.
