- Request for donations to help with last minute International Flight Costs + Family Support during Cancer Treatments - Goal $2500!!

Good Day Dear Friends and Colleagues!
I hope that this post/email find you and your family quite well!

I am usually reticent to ask for help (as many of you are aware) however, I find myself in a position to possibly help someone who is near & dear to my heart, and also possibly including his family - as they prepare to launch on a very difficult time.

Many of you know that David Swart (aka Dawie) has been a part of my life - as a friend and a colleague at Leech-Hensley Architects since October of 1998.  We have been fortunate to help David become a US Citizen, in his time here with our team and we've appreciated all the values of his terrific design skills as well as his wonderful friendship.

We'd been hopeful to allow David time off this year, to visit with family in South Africa...maybe in late March or April.  It has been many years since there was time in our workload - to allow him to do this.  But we both felt that it was a MUST for him to visit this year - since it has been WAY TOO LONG!

Unfortunately, David has just received scary news - that his younger brother, Jurgens, has been diagnosed with cancer.  The doctors have removed several lymph nodes at this time, and this is when they found this diagnosis.

Personally, I would like to put Dawie on a plane RIGHT NOW - so that he can be home with his brother and family during this very difficult time!

The initial part of this request is to ask for a donation - to help with the additional costs for a "last minute" flight to SA.  As we can all imagine - last minute International plane tickets are likely to be exorbitant.  So - it would be my hope that whatever funds we're able to gather - this will help David with these extra & unexpected costs.

Additionally, and the second part of my request is that any extra funds that might be left over after this ticket purchase could then be utilized for Jurgens and his family.

Unfortunately, Jurgens is one of those people who was not able to attend college - so, his ability to make a healthy income has been limited.  Additionally, his wife has not worked, because she remains home with their two young children.

It is due to not having a lot of money - that he delayed seeing a doctor in the first place...

If you could please support this "David/Jurgens GoFundMe Campaign" by making a donation and then by possibly sharing it with others if you feel it's prudent?  I would greatly appreciate it and words will never express my gratitude.

I know that money can be tight, so please know that even $5 helps during this difficult time!

Please know that anything you might share will be valuable, and even if it's not possible to donate at this time - I'll only ask that you please say prayers for David and his family - this, too, will be greatly appreciated!

Let me know if you have any questions and I’ll be happy to answer them!

As always, sending hugs and love - and hopes that your days are filled with so many wonderful things!

Sincerely,
April Hensley
