Since May 2023, I have been volunteering full time in Ukraine providing humanitarian aid and supporting communities and people impacted by Russia's full scale invasion and on-going atrocities.
As I approach 3 years in Ukraine, it has been a remarkable and life-changing experience. I have had the opportunities to work with incredible people from across Ukraine and from around the world. Dedicated volunteers who left their homes and families to serve those in need. The scale of the need can be overwhelming at times but the resiliency of the Ukrainian people and their determination to remain a free, democratic and independent nation inspires me every day.
Working with amazing organizations to provide vital live-saving medical supplies and equipment.
Joining fellow volunteers to help repair and rebuild homes and communities following deadly strikes on civilians, hospitals, schools, and residential communities.
Next week, I will be in southern Ukraine with a team of volunteers helping to repair an orphanage damaged by missile attacks. Russia intentionally and systematically targets civilian infrastructure including schools, hospitals, residential buildings, restaurants, and shopping centers. Responding quickly to these attacks is critical in order to ensure services upon which local communities depend can continue to be provided.
In addition, I have helped prepare meals (soup, porridge with meat and bread) for humanitarian aid workers, and community centers, and local residents who have suffered due to the military aggression of Russia against Ukraine.
Volunteers put their lives on the line helping evacuate people from front-line villages and areas under threat from Russian forces. And sadly, I have lost some amazing people, friends and colleagues over the past three years. I will continue to honor their sacrifice and continue to do whatever it takes to Stand with Ukraine and the Ukrainian people.
As volunteers we are responsible for all of our own living expenses (lodging, meals, etc.) as well as helping to purchase equipment and supplies (shovels, gloves, masks, helmets, body armor, first aid and medical supplies); transportation (trains, buses, etc.); and providing direct support to individual soldiers, combat medics and individual families.
The war continues to rage and it does not appear to be ending anytime soon. Any support you can provide would be great appreciated.
100% of every dollar will go to providing humanitarian and disaster relief aid directly to local communities, families and individuals.
