Friends,
Our island community is deeply saddened by the loss of our friend David Glidden. One of life’s most difficult challenges is the moment we realize we must live without the people we love and hold the closest.
David was a man who contributed so very much to his family, his friends, his church, and to the people of Nantucket. He and Meg have six children, Amy, Tobias, Becky, Daniel, Carol, and Rosemary. They all experienced the love, care and spirit of adventure that characterized David.
David was an avid adventurer, traveler, and runner. From hiking the Grand Canyon to climbing Kilimanjaro, he loved participating in God’s creation. He also loved helping others through such activities as Meals on Wheels, Nantucket Wheelers, and many other beneficial endeavors.
There are countless individuals who have benefited from David’s caring concern. He was an integral part of Summer Street Church with his family. He participated in various missions, from hurricane Katrina recovery to building projects in Haiti. There was a deep love for God in David’s life and this was reflected in his concern for others, especially those in most need.
There are some very challenging days ahead for Meg and her family as they adapt to life without their husband and father. Please show your appreciation for David and help us meet our goal to help his family as they grieve and adapt to life without their wonderful husband and father.
