David F. Darden III, known as "Rico" by his family, lived a beautiful life that unfortunately was cut short.  He was the son of David (Jr.) of NC and the late Radha of Trinidad and Tobago.  David was a passionate soul that lived fully and was loved by many.

David Darden received a full academic scholarship to Morehouse College in 1999.  After taking two years off to care for his mother, in 2006 he finished with a degree in Business Finance.  Before graduating David accepted an offer from Morgan Stanley, NY where he worked as a Real Estate Investment Analyst until December of 2007.

After the death of his mother in November of 2007, David's life was compiled with trial and tragedy.  Through every circumstance he found the strength to stand in the face of opposition.  Even in the worst situations, he found means to mentor and teach troubled young men. He used love and humility as tools for empowerment. On the afternoon of February 9th, 2018, David lost his life at the hands of a Georgia State Patrol Officer.

We believe his loving and gracious spirit is worthy of celebration.  While his time on earth may not have met our expectations, David's life and legacy will continue to live on through every soul his infectious smile touched.  He loved deeply and was loved. David F. Darden III will be forever missed.

The friends and family would like to celebrate David's wonderful life and are asking for donations to help in the transportation and memorial service being scheduled in North Carolina on Saturday, February 17th, 2018.
