Dear Friends and Family,My family and I are asking for any support or assistance you can provide. My husband, David, is nothing short of wonderful. He is an amazing husband, my best friend, and loving father to our two beautiful sons (5 years and 6 months). He works for a school based non-profit, served a mission helping others for our church, coaches our eldest son's soccer team (the Tigers), and is an active leader in Boy Scouts of America. On October 8th, just before he was set to coach the Tigers' Saturday afternoon game, my husband suffered a Macular Hemorrhage causing a severe loss of vision. David has been diagnosed with Myopic Degeneration with Choroidal Neovascularization and is now legally blind, his recovery at this point is unknown. This is a very serious eye disease and one of the leading causes of blindness. This has been a devastating blow, as our little ones are so young and David is our family's primary provider. Even the most menial tasks such as grocery shopping or taking our son to school has become impossible. We are looking into all of our options, including clinical trials and praying for the best possible outcome. David has spent his life helping and giving back to everyone, and now he is the one needing the support. At this time we are unsure when David will fully be able to return to work, but what we do know is that this will be a long process for our family. The medication David needs is very expensive and will cost upwards of $2,000 per visit. We are asking for help to ensure David has access to the best possible medical treatment, surgery, and help available. Please help spread the word!
