David's new foot!

Known as the front man for the rowdy Los Angeles rock band, French Mouth, David Franklin is often times pigeonholed as an enigmatic rocker with painted nails and torn t-shirts. While he’s is widely acknowledged by his peers for melting faces and challenging the current state of rock 'n' roll with his gut-wrenching leads and powerful mumble-like vocals, David is also an awesome brother, faithful friend, and amazing band mate. 



But, like any upstanding citizen attempting to rock ‘n’ roll outside regular working hours, David is subject to freak injury. Traveling down the notoriously steep hills of Echo Park on his skateboard, David took an epic spill in which he broke his ankle and dislocated his leg. It was immediately determined by the doctor that he would need to undergo surgery in order to properly heal.





David is scheduled for surgery this evening, so we wish him well as he goes under the knife. Insurance has been a great aid in this tumultuous time, but a significant cost remains on my brother's plate. It's my hope that while David is under the veil of anesthetic, riding the red dragon in space, that his remaining bill be paid in full, so that when wakes up all he needs to focus on is recovery.


On a more genuine note, when David told me that he injured his ankle fighting crime, I was hurt because I didn't have the immediate means to help him. David has been a great brother, friend, and band mate, and the least I could do is attempt to rally the community to come to his aid - the community that he has helped bring together on many occasion in solidarity of rock 'n' roll. I'm sure your personal interaction with David has been different, but I can state for a fact that David has impacted you in some way.





Let this moment in time mark an opportunity for us all to come to aid to a great person who has helped shape our community for the better.
