David's Glioblastoma Treatment Fund

This year has been one of unprecedented change, creating challenges for all as we learn to navigate our new reality. Our family has been no exception, but nothing could have prepared us for the challenge we face now.

In August of 2020 David was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, an aggressive form of cancer which forms in the brain. There is no known cure, and average survival rates following a diagnosis are generally 12 - 18 months. We believe that David deserves every opportunity to fight those averages, and we need your help to give him that chance. David's diagnosis came after a series of hospital visits starting in July of 2020. While working from home he experienced symptoms of what he assumed to be a stroke. He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors began rigorous testing before determining he’d had a seizure. In the following days David underwent additional testing to find the cause of the seizure, at which point a mass was discovered on his brain. By early August David was undergoing brain surgery, and within a few days was sent home to recover and await a pathology report. When the report came in late August it was not what he was expecting.

David, a life-long train enthusiast, gardener, comedian and coffee-drinker, isn’t doing this alone however. Joining him in this fight is his wife of 28 years Kelly, his two children Georgia and Jagger, his sister Debra, and a loving network of family and friends focused on his well being. Together, we are placing our faith in David’s medical team, our communal strength, and God in the hopes of creating a brighter future in spite of Glioblastoma.

The recommended treatment for Gliblastoma is a 6-Week radiation treatment paired with ongoing chemotherapy. David’s treatment began in September, with the out-of-pocket cost being $2,500.00 to start. This cost comes in addition to $300,000.00 in hospital bills prior to his diagnosis, as well as cost related to medication, transportation, in-home care, and other necessities. Because David is largely unable to work, this burden has fallen to Kelly and the other members of the family which is why we are asking for your support. We are currently exploring all possible avenues for financial aid, but need immediate assistance given how urgently treatment is needed. For that reason, we ask that you consider donating to David’s treatment fund today. No donation is too small, and every dollar donated goes towards supporting David and his family through this extraordinary challenge.

Thank you so much for joining us in the fight against Glioblastoma. We are never stronger than when we work together with faith, love, and hope for the future.
