My beloved husband has been cancer-free until this February when we got the news that it has come back with a fury. The cancer has now spread to his lungs, intestines, spots on his liver and part of his pancreas. His oncologist said that if we do no treatment, he has 6 months to a year. David’s immediate response was, “I’m not ready to go! I still have more music to create!”That was music to my ears. So, now the battle has begun; March 8th he started an oral chemo therapy called Xeloda, which is designed for certain metastatic cancers. Since he is in a very weak state, the oncologist wanted to start him on a low dose and gradually increase it, which he did last Friday, April 5th. Unfortunately it didn’t go well. It looks like he needs more time to build up to the maximum dose. It is really kicking him but he’s staying positive and keeping his sweet disposition intact as well as his sense of humor. In the midst of it all, I still need to work and have a caregiver coming in Monday through Friday in the afternoons. I’m getting close to depleting my savings and have no more wiggle room to cover his afternoon care. It costs $375 a week, so $6,000 will get him 4 months of afternoon coverage. We are hoping that it is all we’ll need to get him through the roughest part of chemo.I want to thank all that have provided so much support over the last 2 years for my beloved. Thank you and bright blessings to all. Ann♥️
