On April 20th, 2020, David was in a major car accident and has been
in ICU for over a week with extensive injuries. We have been told that it will
be at least another three weeks in the ICU. Then on to a long recovery in a
Rehabilitation Center in the Medical Center. We will need to make many accommodations
In our household to prepare for his homecoming. We will also need to purchase medical
devices and equipment to assist him.
David is very close to graduating from University of Arizona with a degree in Psychology and was recently inducted into the Tau Sigma National Honor Society. He was actively researching
Graduate Schools and very excited about the next step of his education.
David currently volunteers for the Crisis Text Line and was proud that he had earned a Top Level Volunteering there. While living in Austin he also volunteered at the Food Bank and Mentoring children along with other worthwhile organizations.
David has a heart for others and would like to pursue a career as a child psychologist possibly
In a school setting.
Being an avid reader and he was proud to say - that he has read hundreds of books in classics, literature, poetry, psychology from renowned scholars, such as Albert Bandura , Freud, Knausgaard, Oliver Sacks, Ferlnghetti to name a few. He also loved to write. He wrote poetry
and even had put together some stories for a book.
This tragic accident interrupted
David’s recent project is to set up a LittleFreeLibraby.org - Titled : Take a Book - Share a Book - A nonprofit organization.
The small scaled wooden library housing books for kids to enjoy and read with a purpose of engaging the parents to read to their children and the children to take an interest in reading a book and sharing a book is at a location where there is a pond with ducks
We had read an article on a local Spurs player Lonnie Walker’s passion for reading and David was excited about giving back to the community in his own way - with this free library.
We will make sure that this Passion Project is completed.
Please Pray for this young man and that the Doctors and Nurses continue to heal our son David with
all the prayers by Family, Friends and all the Prayer Warriors in the Name of God.
