David (Young Flare) Marrero

Update: David is currently in rehabilitation and is doing well. After his rehab stay, we will be taking him home to Florida. The monies raised so far will be used towards his transport home as we would have to hire an ambulatory service to take us, which can be costly so thank you. He still has a long journey to recovery but has a strong team of supporters behind him. We thank you all for all of your donations, support, well wishes and prayers.

Hi, my name is Iris Dove or as all of Dave's friends call me, Momma Flare. David (Young Flare) was in a devastating motorcycle accident on 8/4/2023, colliding with a wall and leaving him with traumatic injuries. He has some broken ribs and a broken neck bone. He has had one surgery and has two more pending.

David is 28 years old and all who know him, know he has the biggest heart with the purest intentions. He truly cares deeply for others and his loyalty is unmatched. David loves to partake in charitable events and he is always the first one to offer a helping hand to someone in need. At the hospital, many of you shared some heartwarming stories about Dave and all that he’s done to help others. Needless to say, I am one extremely proud momma. The outpour of love and support for David is overwhelming and for that alone, I feel he deserves a second shot at this thing called life. David is responsive but the journey to recovery will be extensive and rehabilitation interminable. David will not be able to work for the unforeseeable future and at this point, medical expenses are undetermined, so any dollar donated will help him immensely.

As many of you may know, I live in Florida but will remain here in the Bronx with David until he can be transported there. Asking for financial help is awkward, let's be honest. But if you're here and want to help, just know no donation is too small. Any and every cent from these donations will help with Dave's recovery process, and expenses incurred as well as find a way to bring him home to Florida as soon as he can be transported, where he has a strong support team that he will need during his long road to recovery.
