Hi there! My name is Michelle, and I’m starting this GoFundMe to support my dad, David Uhl, and his medical care.

My dad was in a motorcycle accident on Tuesday July 5th while riding in the HokaHey. Long distance riding is my dads passion, but he is so much more than a long distance motorcyclist. He is an amazing husband to my mom, Sandy, an amazing father, Opa, and friend.

His motorcycle accident happened outside of Casper, Wyoming and he had to be life flighted to the Casper Medical Center. From there, he took another life flight to Swedish Medical Center.

My dad had a fusion on his C2-C6, and had space created to reduce spinal swelling, on 07 July. He currently can move his left arm. He has no sensation or mobility in his right arm or legs. We hope to see recovery soon, but spinal injuries are slow healing and require long term care. He is currently still requiring a breathing tube due to the swelling creating pressure on his diaphragm.

My dad is expected to stay in the ICU for two weeks, and will then move into a rehab facility to focus on strength and mobility. He will be in a wheelchair, but we pray that it is short term.

We are grateful that he is alive, and will do whatever it takes to help him regain mobility. As most you know, medical care, surgery, life flights, rehab, home construction to allow for a wheelchair, and medical equipment are very to expensive, and that is where we need your help.
