Save David's Piano! Dont let COVID stop the music!

As seen on RTE News (27/10/2020), please help this appeal on behalf of Cork-based pianist David Syme.
David Syme (71) is an internationally renowned concert pianist who lives in Castletownbere, West Cork, Ireland. Originally from Detroit, David has played in venues worldwide including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and Wigmore Hall. A Juilliard alum, David has also been awarded an honorary degree by the Royal Irish Academy of Music for his contribution to the Irish musical landscape. He has been referred to as a national treasure and a cultural hero. Besides touring internationally, David is celebrated in Ireland for his in-home concerts, presented throughout the year.
Sadly, due to COVID19, David has been unable to perform concerts for over eight months and is now out of money after living off his savings for some time. He was faced with the prospect of having to sell his 120-year old Steinway piano. David told RTE that the grand piano is worth around €80,000 and in desperation, he was hoping to sell it for half that as a stopgap measure.
There has been a tremendous outpouring of sympathy and support from people who were touched by his story. Some anonymous benefactors have generously taken care of David's most pressing needs, urging him to keep the instrument and making that possible for now. We are hoping to help David survive this rough patch and to continue enriching the community with his music.
This appeal has been set up to raise funds for David to help him save his piano and keep the music playing. COVID has taken so much from us all the past few months, let’s do our part to help this man keep making beautiful music. ideally, we would love to raise at least €40,000 more to enable him to do virtual concerts from home. Please give generously. All funds will be given directly to David and his wonderful wife Suzanne.
