Bandido Swinger (Mike Hoople)

Hello there! My name is Kymothy Hoople and I am the youngest daughter of David “Swinger” Hoople. I’ve made this GoFundMe to provide financial support for my him and my mother as my father has recently become very ill. Any support will go directly to Swinger and my mother, Christi to help with any medical expenses, living expenses (bills, gas, food, etc), and anything else we may have to get to help my father through this new chapter in his life.

A quick overview of what happened to my father is he was admitted to the hospital Christmas Eve after my momma called 911. Christmas day they took him back for surgery on his feet as they had begun to develop blisters. Come to find out he has a severe infection that was also Necrotizing Fasciitis and we had to either amputate his legs or allow him to pass as peacefully as possible depending on what we felt his wishes were. Swinger now is missing his left leg from the thigh down, and his right leg from just above the ankle. The doctors had found the source of the infection as well, he has an infection in his heart which they are saying is “Endocarditis” and until that is gone these infections can still pop up in his body.

Swinger has had three more surgeries since then. One for his right hand, which one of his night nurses noticed and made the doctors aware of in time to prevent it from becoming as bad as his feet were. The third surgery was for his right knee, which did end up testing positive for the same Necrotizing Fasciitis that his feet had but had not damaged his knee enough that it required more amputation. His fourth surgery, his most recent one on 01/01/2023, was to go back into his right hand and knee to see if it had progressed in either spot or was okay to close. His right hand was good to close, but his right knee was not so much yet. They’ll be keeping an eye on it for the next few days as well as the rest of him. They now have him on the correct medications to start getting ahead of this infection, we are unsure yet of the next steps for his heart, legs, etc.

Now a little bit about my dad in case you reading this may not know him. Swinger is a member of the Notorious Lubbock Chapter. He is 52 years old and he has the biggest heart out of anyone I know. He cares so much for his friends and family and even strangers. Swinger always says his goal each day is to make a stranger smile because that could be the highlight of their day and may help that person out more than anyone knows just by making them smile. He helps friends and family whenever he can, no matter the ask, if he can do it he will. He is a father to three children and a grandfather to one, but he is also a father figure to many, as well as a brother to anyone and everyone that counts him as one. He has been married to my momma going on 28 years and thankfully going to be together longer.

I have decided to set up this GofundMe to reach out to family, friends, strangers, and anyone to help my parents through this difficult time. My father's first worry when finding out about his legs was how he was going to provide for his mother and Christi as he needs his legs for his job. We are in contact with his job, insurance, etc but as this happened on the holidays we are delayed due to offices being closed for the holidays so we don’t have any idea what assistance we will be getting from anything. Anything at all from anyone is greatly appreciated and with be valued as my father is the sole provider for his household and any amount is so helpful.
