David was at WakeMed Hospital, Raleigh Campus for a month but has now moved to the LifeCare facility in Rocky Mount to begin rehabilitation. He is showing positive signs of improvement, has come completely off the ventilator and is able to move his body more and more. He has a feeding tube, but is now beginning to eat some soft foods by mouth. We are so thankful and encouraged by the improvements he has made, but realize that his recovery may be long.
Pipeline Utilities has set up a GoFundMe campaign to raise money to help alleviate some of the stress and worry on his family. All funds collected will be used to pay his medical expenses, including WakeMed Hospital, LifeCare, physicians, and therapists. In addition, Pipeline Utilities will be reimbursing the fees charged by GoFundMe for payment processing of 2.9% plus $0.30 per donation to make each donation to cover his medical expenses whole.
Any amount you can give will be helpful and we know his family will appreciate your generosity.
This past October David and his crew took home top prizes at the Octoberfest at Duke Raleigh Hospital. David won the chili cook-off. Help us support David and his family and get him back to not only winning chili cook-offs but also training and encouraging his crew, playing softball, and providing for and spending time with his family.
