David Scott's Liver Cancer Fundraising Campaign

A sincere thank you to all who have supported the Scott family through your donations and prayers.

David went to be with Jesus on July 3rd after battling liver cancer. We miss him everyday but we take comfort in knowing he is no longer in pain and is in the presence of his Creator.

We are grateful to be able to say that we no longer need your support. His medical expenses have been paid for. We will be closing the GoFundMe. Thank you all so much for your love and support, it means the world.

On December 9th, 2022 the Scott family found out that David Scott has a 12 cm cancerous mass in/on his liver. The good news is that the cancer has not spread to any of his other organs. And it appears that the rest of his liver is in good condition.

David is a full-time missionary with Wycliffe Bible Translators. As such his income is entirely based on the generous individuals who send money to support David and his family in the work they are doing. The goal of this fundraiser is to raise funds to help David pay for the medical expenses from his cancer treatments.

Due to the size of the cancer the doctors were unable to operate and surgically remove it. Instead, he will be receiving a treatment called immunotherapy. In layman's terms, immunotherapy helps a person's own immune system fight cancer through the use of drugs. The goal of its use for David is to stop the tumor from growing and prayerfully shrink it.

David and his wife Julie live in North Carolina but are receiving treatment at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, TX from one of the lead Oncologists on staff. They are blessed to be staying with family in the area when they travel to Dallas. David and Julie will be traveling to Dallas once a month to receive treatment at Baylor.
