Most of you know that I was ordained as a Pastor in December of 2011. I have been based in St. Petersburg, Russia, since the end of September, 2012. Although most of my ministry is done in Peter, I also travel to minister in other cities in the Russian Federation. Thus far, in addition to St. Petersburg, I have preached and ministered in Sarapul, Lakhdenpokhya, Nebrezhney Chelny, Izhevsk, Ufa and Iglino.
Equip Ministries International www.equipmin.com is the organization that I work with the majority of time. Mike and Carrie Pickett, Missionaries to Russia, are the Directors. Here, I teach at the Charis Bible Training Center (Evening, Saturday and Leadership schools), lead and help to prepare mission trips, and minister at a Drug Rehabilitation Center associated with EMI.
I am also assisting an EMI project with the goal of planting 1,000 Bible colleges across Russia over the next 3 years. This is a lofty, yet attainable, goal that grants me the opportunity to assist in filming and producing classes and outlines that will be used as part of the curriculum in these colleges.
In addition to EMI, I am also working with a group of local pastors and Christian leaders in a "Teach English Outreach". This program is designed to share the love of God to people that would not normally visit a church. We do this through the vehicle of helping people with their command of the English language. This is an awesome evangelism program that can be easily used in the United States. It could help churches like New Life reach out, in yet another way, to the vast non-fluent English speaking population.
My total fundraising goal is $12,000 and the initial proceeds will be used to establish the David Rose Foundation which is a non-profit organization I am developing. Our mission is to help meet the spiritual, financial and emotional needs of people in chronically stressed and underserved communities in both the Russian Federation and the United States. I am in the process of setting up 501(c)(3) status which will allow official recognition as a US tax-exempt nonprofit organization. This will make us exempt from some Federal income taxes and also allow donors to receive tax deductions when contributing to support our vision.
Funds raised will also cover general expenses and education/ training for the remainder of my time here in Russia. General expenses include airfare, acquiring visas, housing, food, missions travel and in-country transportation costs. Education & training will include enrolling in classes for proficiency of the Russian language and training in commodity trading.
Russian language proficiency will help me serve more effectively here and in neighboring countries. The commodity trading aspect is a vision that I have had on my heart for several years. I have traded successfully while studying the markets on my own over the past 8 years. I plan to use the skills I enhance through more formal training to help generate future income and to train individuals and ministries so that they can generate income and become increasingly self sufficient and better their conditions.
Thank you for taking the time to read this note. I want to thank you, in advance, for your prayers and financial support. Reaching out for help like this is not easy for me. However, I recognize and accept its necessity.
Know that YOU are here with me as WE touch people with the unconditional love of God.
