The loss of David Romanchik
Donation protected
Update: Due to cash donations, we have updated our goal.
My mother unexpectedly has a new cost of an estimated $18,000 that as a family we cannot afford. We are uncomfortable with asking for anything but at this point we are desperate. Please share or spare what you can. Thank you so much.
My name is Emily. My family and I just endured a devastating and unexpected loss of an incredible human being. My stepfather, David, underwent surgery on the 8th of September on his spine. He then passed away suddenly on the late morning of September 10, 2023.
The hospital released him not even a full 72 hours later for him to arrive home and collapse. At this time we are unsure of what caused his death.
David was loved by many. He volunteered at his local fire department in East Hampton, Connecticut, he loved his dogs, his Harley Davidson and he loved providing for his family as Mr. Fix-It. Whenever there was a problem he would insist to help anyone out and would give the shirt off of his back; he taught me it was always good to be neighborly.
He was not only a father to my sister and I, he was also a husband, a brother, a dog father and a new grandpa. He was so excited to welcome the first grandchild into this world and he was ready to show her everything he knew.
The last thing he said to me was how proud of me he was and he wished me a happy birthday right before he went into surgery.
Our hearts are empty. I cannot express the pain of this loss.
I am setting up this gofundme to help prepare my family for the cost of the funeral and unexpected living and debt expenses my mother will now endure. Anything you can spare would mean the world to my family and would help us out tremendously.
Please call your loved ones and tell them you love them. Please please please forgive and move forward with one another because there is so much love and memories to create and moments to be cherished.
We love you David.
