Hello I am Stacey the daughter of David Rees lovingly known as “Big Dave and Captain Dave”

Dad was a San Diego native and well respected in the Mission Bay Area. Know for his love of the water, sailing, fishing, taking the scenic route in his Blue Jeep, woodworking craftsmanship, legendary friendship and unconditional love for his family. Big Dave was a gentle giant who always had time to help his friends and dock neighbors being a hero to many including myself.

Big Dave was a man of few words but when he spoke you listened because you were getting true wisdom.

Dad also loved a great party

Unfortunately the past few years were rough for dad. he battled many medical issues and surgeries to regain mobility. Never once complaining of pain or his circumstance. He often referred to himself as “the best patient “

We have chosen to have his memorial service to reflect his love of water and a great party by hosting his services on the Beautiful William D Evans Sternwheeler in Mission Bay. Out of the beautiful Bahia Resort We will be celebrating, remembering and mourning together with music, food, cocktails and a 2 hr bay cruise.

the cost of of the venue for 4 hrs, food and beverages with a full bar for 125 guests and 2 hrs of bay cruise is just under $20,000. yes that’s a large chunk of change but this is Dads last party and he is worth it. The payment is in 2 installments with final payment due 6-10-23

I was encouraged to set up this account to allow people to help if they wanted to.
