My husband David started having symptoms the week after Thanksgiving 2021. After many tests and "we don't knows", ER visits, him being picked up by EMS from residence, in January we got the diagnosis of Stage 4 Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma. Multiple tumors were found. The primary tumor in his chest and secondary in the pelvis area where found by a PetScan and he was admitted to MD Anderson in Houston to begin treatment immediately. Unfortunately, after 10 weeks and 5 rounds of chemo, the tumor in the chest  is not completely gone. His doctors have decided to try a cutting edge treatment called CAR T-Cell. This comes with many potential side effects and of course more expenses. It is unknown how long he will be in the hospital and how long he will have to remain in Houston after treatment to be monitored.

 

David has worked at Dow Chemical for 32 years, we have been together for 20 years and married for 16 years, and have two daughters in high school.

With the previous treatments, we have had a lot of out of pocket expenses that insurance doesn't cover such as co-pays for each doctor visit & procedure, hotel stays, gas, food, parking fees, and miscellaneous medical items. With this new additional treatment, we are anticipating additional expenses.
