The World Cup racing starts next weekend (November 26/27th) in Finland! I’m itching to get the racing under way and test my fitness. Starting the season off representing the US is a huge honor, and I cannot wait to put the stars and stripes suit on.

Because of my results last season I get the opportunity to compete on World Cup this year, which I am really excited about. I remain an unfunded athlete representing the US Team. This means I have to cover all the expenses for travel, room & board, wax fees, a wax technician’s full expenses, and the many Covid test swabs that will be pushed up my nose this winter. While these expenses are a very real challenge and hurdle, I am well aware of the tremendous opportunity I have to race around the world. I feel very fortunate to race on an international circuit and represent my donors, sponsors, APU Nordic Ski Center, Alaska, and the USA.

Last year’s fundraiser was a huge success and incredibly humbling. With the support from the community I was able to compete on the World Cup and qualify for World Championships in Germany. At World Championships, I was one of six athletes to earn an individual top-20 result and one of two men to achieve two top-20 results at the Championships. Despite some bumps in the road I am really pleased with how last season went.

What you'll be supporting-

Travel: Ticket to/from Europe, weekly travel to new World Cup venues.

Room & board: The nightly rate to compete on World Cup is $125/day

Wax technician: I must cover my technician's salary, room, board and travel expenses.

Wax fee: $75/race

Covid Test: Generally biweekly
