It is with a heavy heart that we share our beloved husband, father, grandpa, and friend David Morren passed away unexpectedly from natural causes Sunday, August 8, 2021 at the age of 53.
David and his wife Melissa had just celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary in June. During their 31 years of marriage, David was able to welcome two children into the world, Megan (29) and Jacob (22), whom he adored. He was able to celebrate the marriage of his daughter Megan to her husband Andy and his five grandchildren whom he adored: Serenity, Tori, Caleb, Isaiah, and Adelyn.
David loved many things throughout his life from his dogs to AC/DC to growing his own vegetables to smoking/grilling meat. You could always count on catching the Morrens in their backyard hosting bonfires and feeding their guests with delicious grilled food. David loved working on projects around the house whether it was installing storm doors or painting various rooms. Perhaps he took a little of that from his father, James Morren, as he was a carpenter by trade.
Throughout his life, David showed consistent godly character as he cared for his family. One way he was able to do this was through his military service in the US Army Reserves. His character could be seen in the way he played with his nieces and nephews, gave them the “don’t start smoking” talks, and check-ins on Facebook Messenger. There were few brighter moments than getting surprise messages from David and opening them up to see the goofiest photos from him. Whether it had been a long time, or more recent, David always kept in touch with the people around him.
It is with great peace that his family knew David was a Christian and is spending eternity with God. And I’m sure we all could guess that if we could bring clothes to heaven, David would be sporting his University of Michigan hoodie.
Contributions to this fund will go towards any unexpected costs to David’s family.
