David Moore Bone Marrow Transplant
Donation protected
Hello I am Victory Davidsmeier Moore reaching out for my son Max's father, David Moore in Springfield, Illinois. David is a great dad to Max (16) and he also works for HSHS/St. John's in Home Health and Hospice as a Medical Social Worker. David has worked for HSHS for over 10 years helping families and meeting the needs of others faced with medical problems and even end of life care. He has continued to work as much as he can while being treated for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at SLU in St. Louis MO. David's current diagnosis of blood cancer is an unfortunate and rare side effect from the treatment for the bone cancer multiple myeloma which he was diagnosed with 4 years ago. He had been in remission from that cancer before this diagnosis.
While it is excellent news that the SLU oncologist has determined that David is a good candidate for a donor stem cell transplant and the Donor Search Team has found an excellent match, the requirements for the procedure are strict. The procedure will occur in mid July and David will have to spend at least 4 weeks in the hospital and then he must stay within 30 minutes of SLU for another 70+ days with a full-time paid caregiver. The cost of employing someone to stay with David for that time, as well as the lodging will be difficult to raise.
That is why his sons Max and Adam and I are asking for donations to assist David with the medical, prescription, lodging, food, and caregiver costs. All donations are beyond appreciated!
On behalf of David, Thank You Very Much.
