When you meet 8-year-old David Marty, it’s easy to see why he’s so loved by his family, friends, and classmates. A second grader at Holy Family Catholic School, David is known for his bright smile, quick humor, and love of magic tricks, Roblox, and any card or board game.
This spring, David’s world changed when he was diagnosed with leukemia. Since then, he has faced countless doctor visits, treatments, and long hospital stays, showing remarkable courage for someone so young. His parents, Jessica and Dave, describe him as a fighter who continues to find joy and humor even in the toughest moments.
To support David and his family during this journey, his community is coming together for a fundraising dinner in his honor. The event will be held on Saturday, October 11th, from 2-6pm at Holy Family Catholic School, with proceeds helping ease the financial burdens that come with treatment.
“We are so grateful for the love and support we’ve received,” said Jessica. “Knowing that our community is walking alongside us means everything. David’s strength inspires us every day, but the strength of having an entire community at your back is more than I can even put words to. We know brighter days are ahead and we can’t wait to spend those bright days with the wonderful community that has risen up to support us.”
The fundraiser is not just about raising money, it’s a way for friends, neighbors, and strangers alike to show the Marty family they are not alone.
