David & Martha IVF Journey
Donation protected
We hope you are doing well and enjoying health and happiness this season. We are writing to you in order to share a personal story and ask for your support as we begin a new opportunity with IVF.
We got married in May, 2015 and were so excited to share our lives together, travel, and build a family. Little did we know that starting a family would come with much heartache and pain. Although we have been working through this journey for some time now, it is not something we have shared often with others, or spoken very openly about.
Six years ago we started our journey in trying to conceive. We were living in Maui then and excited to start a new chapter in our lives. In 2019, we became pregnant for the first time. Unfortunately, it was very short lived, ending in a miscarriage.
After more than a year without any luck, we both talked with our doctors to see if there may be any obstacles in our path. We found out that both of us had some medical hurdles that can cause problems with fertility and we took steps to resolve them.
In 2021 we became pregnant for the second time. We were beyond excited and couldn’t wait to finally begin a family of our own. Unfortunately, this pregnancy also did not last. The pregnancy was ectopic, and on the same day that Martha went in for a treatment option, her fallopian tube ruptured, and was rushed for emergency surgery requiring the removal of her right fallopian tube.
Later, we began seeking fertility treatment with a facility in Austin which advised us to try several cycles of IUI. We’ve tried several of these cycles with a lot of driving back and forth from Austin, but unfortunately, none of the procedures were successful in producing a pregnancy.
After many tears, prayers, and the medical advice of our doctors, we believe that an IVF treatment plan is likely the best option for a chance at pregnancy. Although we are not looking forward to the process, we have decided that we would like to pursue this option.
With this in mind we have decided to reach out to some of our friends and family and ask for support. We have both been incredibly blessed in many ways, but we also know this treatment option will be difficult and costly. If you are able, and have a desire to help us in this journey with prayers, wisdom, well-wishes, or finances, we would gladly accept, and greatly appreciate your support.
