David Marshall Stage 4 Cancer Clinical Trial

Here we go again! As many of you know my little brother, age 33, has been fighting stage 4 colon cancer for the last 3 years. After major tumor removal surgery and 6 months of chemotherapy in NY, his cancer progressed from stage 3 to stage 4. Unfortunately the Drs in NY sent him home to die with a "don't expect to live long" fair well. At that time he moved his wife and 2 toddlers across the US to Texas to be a patient at MD Anderson in the hopes of a future. After over a year on his second go at chemotherapy as well as radiation, MD Anderson Cancer Hospital has given him the opportunity to be in an Immunotherapy Clinical Trial that will go through September into November! Unfortunately this means that he has to undergo lung surgery for metastized tumors and then shortly after be placed in the hospital for 3 weeks to undergo the clinical trial medication and procedures. He will then go back under for surgery a second time on his lungs. We are super hopeful for this trial and that it will be exactly what we have all been hoping for in his healing. But, this means he will be out of work for that time as he cannot leave the hospital. He will also need recovery time. He is the sole provider for himself and his family as his wife has to stay home to care for their children and him as he is out of work every other week on chemotherapy. David and his family have been through so much trauma the last 3 years and uprooting their family, moving away to a state where they had no family, and being thrown into more medical treatment has been a nightmare. This clinical trial is the hope they have been waiting for to get him healed. Our hope here is to be able to help them pay a couple months worth of bills so that he is able to do this clinical trial.
