David Marion's Communication System

David had an accident on Father's Day. He sustained a C4 spinal cord injury and is now paralyzed. He is on a ventilator via a tracheostomy, so is unable to speak. His paralysis is from the neck down. He has no use of his hands. We are raising money to get him a device that will allow him to communicate effectively with his family, and care givers. He hasn't been able to communicate his needs since his accident. The insurance company may or may not pay some of the cost for this device. So far, the clinical team has not been able to get any coverage for a speech-generating device. The estimated cost is $17,000.
