David Leon, one of the best friends many people have ever known, fell basically dead of a massive heart attack Thursday night March 3, 2022, with no warning nor symptoms ever. Two amazing and very brave people kept performing chest compressions to keep his heart beating until the paramedics arrived and used a portable defibulator to get his heart to beat again on its' own. He was transported to Oschner LSU Medical Center in Shreveport where he was rushed into emergency open heart surgery where a 12-hour quintuple bypass was performed by some very skilled and caring doctors, nurses, and operating room staff. All of these events saved the life of a very young 45-year-old David who has spent so much of his life caring for other people in ways many would never even know about.

David drove Uber / Lyft, sold life insurance, and played poker to make his living at the time, and had just accepted a job as a regional manager in the finance industry. He was slated to leave Monday March 7 to report to his new job.

At this time, he is unable to work, drive, or do many physical activities due to heart surgery. Doctors expect a full recovery, yet it is a long 6 to 12 week journey - a time he is unable to work. His surgery, subsequent medical care, and medicine costs are staggering, a debt he will surely live with most of his life, on top of not being able to meet his daily living expenses and bills.

David would not approve of asking for help, but I know no other way for him to not stress all of this. I am asking for help on his behalf; as I know he would do it for me and many others. Please if you can give anything from a few dollars to whatever you feel like. Mostly I am asking you all to continue to pray for him and his parents. I cried out to God that night in a way I never have begging God to not take him from us, and God answered that prayer, so thank you all for praying with us!
