In memory of David Bartlett
Tax deductible
David would have turned 45 today (27th January 2022); he leaves behind two terrapins Stinky and Bob, who have been safely relocated to a turtle sanctuary. We know that David would want them and others like them to be well looked after, so Ronald Francisco, Natasha Fernz and I got together to start this fundraiser - in David's memory - for the Terrapin Nesting Project in New Jersey, USA. Their mission is to protect the Diamondback Terrapin, their nests, and hatchlings on Long Beach Island and the surrounding areas. They are working tirelessly to rebuild the population of the Diamondback Terrapin and restore the balance of the ecosystem. You can find more information at www.terrapinnestingproject.org You can also follow them on Facebook and Instagram . (All donations will be sent directly by GoFundMe to the charity)
More about David:
David Lee Bartlett may have only been 44 when he passed away in January, but anyone who knew him would say that he lived life to the fullest!
Born in Las Palmas, Spain, to Reginald Christopher (deceased) and Margaret Wong Bartlett, David grew up in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), grew older in Denton and then Dallas, before putting down roots in New York. David was New York personified – he rarely slept, smoked like a steam pipe, and was effortlessly cool!
Shortly after graduating from the University of North Texas, he started his career with Sprint in Dallas, where he spent six happy years. He moved onto Tier Technologies, then Future Technology Associates and eventually found his home away from home as a Senior Director at the New York City Department of Education. He was great at his job, but he wasn’t just a fantastic boss or colleague, he was also a wonderful friend and mentor.
He worked hard, loved hard and played hard – David was an ‘all or nothing’ kind of guy! He may have gone on to his next grand adventure but just like in New York, we know he’s blazing new trails and ear-marking all the best spots to share with us when we meet again.
Until then, help us honor his memory by donating to the Terrapin Nesting Project :)
